Chapter CXVI: The Battle at Hogwarts
Part D: A Brief Account of Major Players and Important Personages After the Fact

Granger, Hermione (Gryffindor)- One of Harry Potter's closest friends and a witch often called "one of the most brilliant of her generation," she took the concept of S.P.E.W- the Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare to a whole new level, founding S.P.A.M.B. – the Society for the Protection of All Magical Beings, promoting the health and wellbeing of magical creatures ranging from Centaurs, to House Elves to Werewolves. Married Ronald Weasley and had two children, Fred Jr. and Jane Weasley. Awarded an Order of Merlin, First Class for her efforts.

Longbottom, Neville (Gryffindor)- The son of Frank and Alice Longbottom, permanent residents of St. Mungo's after an attack by Bellatrix Lestrange, the gifted Herbologist started the Longbottom Nursey, the go-to source for rare, exotic and hard-to-grow plants. The nursery produces some of the finest potion ingredients obtainable in the United Kingdom. Married to Luna Lovegood.

Lovegood, Luna (Ravenclaw)- Daughter of Quibbler editor Xenophilius, the "flighty" witch took over reign of the paper after the death of her father, and is currently married to noted Herbologist Neville Longbottom.

McGonagall, Minerva (Gryffindor)- Appointed Headmistress of Hogwarts after the war and served until her death. Seen as tough, but fair, and was generally well liked. She earned a Order of Merlin, Third Class, for her efforts during the Battle to protect the students and the school.

Malfoy, Draco (Slytherin)- Son of the notorious Death Eater, it came out that the Malfoy heir owes Harry Potter a life debt. He has renounced his father's political leanings and spends his days doing charitable works. He has not yet announced whether he will eventually take up the currently empty Wizengamot seat. He spends his days in philanthropic efforts, trying to repair the Malfoy name. Married a pureblooded French witch, has one son, Scorpius Abraxis.

Malfoy, Lucius & Narcissa (Slytherins)- Despite cries that he should be in Azkaban, the notorious wizard avoided imprisonment only after the Wizengamot viewed Pensieve memories showing that his ultimate allegiance lied with his family. In return, he was barred for life from any kind of political activity, including the ancestral seats Malfoy's have held since 1529, and his son may not take them up until his death. Narcissa was pardoned in light of her not revealing that Harry Potter was alive yet again. Five years after the end of the war, they retired to France.

Potter, Harry (Gryffindor)-The Boy Who Lived Thrice. Awarded the Order of Merlin, First Class for his heroic efforts, he went on to spend seven years (1998-2005) playing Quidditch for the English national team, leading them to victories in the 1999 Qudditch World Cup. Before marrying Brynn Bryce, lead editor of Potions Quarterly, he briefly dated Ginerva Weasley, younger sister of Ronald Weasley. Potter and Bryce had one son, James Sirius before her untimely death in 2006 in a freak potions accident. This moment marked a turning point in Mr. Potter's life, turning his attention to philanthropic efforts to support orphans and children from broken homes.

Riddle, Tom Marvolo (Slytherin)-Also know as He Who Must Not Be Named. Still dead.

Slughorn, Horace (Slytherin)- Rose to position of Deputy Headmaster under Minerva McGonagall. The only Slytherin at Hogwarts at the time known to be fighting for the Light.

Snape, Severus (Slytherin)- Tied in the rankings for "Worst Headmaster of Hogwarts," his position on the list is asterisked due to extenuating circumstance. Memories revealed by Harry Potter after the Headmaster's death at the hands of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named showed the gifted Potions-maker loyalty to the Dumbledore and the cause of the Light. At Potter's insistence, Snape's portrait was hung in the Headmaster's office on the two year anniversary of the battle and he was posthumously awarded an Order of Merlin, Second Class for his actions.

Weasley, Ronald (Gryffindor)-Harry Potter's other confidant, during the darkest days of the war took up the post of Qudditch commentator for the Chudley Cannons, his "dream job." In the off-season, he has written several Quidditch guides and takes care of his children. Awarded an Order of Merlin, First Class, for his efforts in the war.
